Hospice Cornwall is another community project of Carefor Health and Community Services.

Recognizing the need of Cornwall and the United Counties’ aging population, the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care agreed to fund part of the ongoing operational budget for a hospice once opened.

Carefor took up the challenge and the process involved completing a needs assessment in 2001, a feasibility assessment in 2002, a business plan in 2003, and in October 2005 the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care announced that they would grant Carefor operating funds of $580,000.00 for the year 2007-2008.

Carefor sincerely believes that when it comes to an individual’s end-of-life care, regardless of age, gender, race or religion it’s never too late to care.

And whether you are considering a gift of money or a gift of your time as a volunteer it’s never too late to care.

And now with the support of so many caring individuals and organizations, our hospice is about to become a reality.
